Superfood Breakfast Routine #1 - Superfood Clusters

I have been getting into this morning superfood routine - 2 key things, well, 3 actually, cause the day is really started with a big Green Smoothie around 9 or 10 or so..

That's been a big part of my Morning for years! But the new addition has been my bowl of granola, fruit, almond milk and maple syrup ..and the new addition to this has been 1 or 2 of my superfood clusters broken up into it. (#3 part of the superfood morning routine coming up soon)

Above pic has it covered up with fruit but below you can see them.. broken up on top. & also the chlorella tabs, which I thought would be a great idea - but not really, they don't taste so great.. it's better taking them separately! But the superfood clusters are amazing both in the cereal and on their own!!!

They are a huge hit around here. I have been making them regularly. These are inspired by a recipe by Elaina Love, a link which my Mom sent me & I can't find now - but here's a link to her website - & there are lots of other great recipes there!! : )

I have been into superfoods for a long time - here's a link back to a recipe I used to love to make for superfood squares - 1 c Maca, lol, Love that!!

Anyway, here's the new recipe thats won my heart - or, How I made it last time, it seems to change everytime, depending on what I have around. I am looking into getting reishi, chaga etc in bulk so I imagine that my upcoming batches will be filled with lots more of those!

Superfood Clusters

1 c Cacao powder
2 T Spirulina
2 T Lacuma powder
1 T Reishi powder
1/4 c Coconut Oil
1/4 c Honey
1/2 c Agave
Mix this together and start melting, carefully, over low heat, so you dont get it too hot, 1/4 c Cacao Butter - I usually melt it in a bowl over a pan of boiling water. This is a necessary ingredient, needed to solidify the rest of the cluster together.
Continue adding to bowl while this is melting:
1/2 c Goji Berries
1/2 c Golden 'Incan' Berries
1/2 c Cacao nibs
1 c Coconut
1/2 c Hemp Seeds
2 T Sesame seeds
1/2 c Brazil nuts - chopped
1/2 c Macadamias - chopped

Here's my tray of them, kind of messy. I used my old well-worn industrial sized cookie sheet to scoop them out onto and then put them in the fridge or freezer for an hour to harden and set. Then I remove and store in a container in the fridge. I've ben eating 2-3 of these a day - Loving them!!!

My kithen counter, as usual.. lots on the go!! : )
