Banana Production

Before packing, bananas spend 20-30 minutes in a pool of water to seal the latex put on the freshly cut crowns.

The banana "tree" brings only one harvest in its life.

During the harvest, bananas are laid in a special sponge so that they are not damaged during transport to the packing station.

Machete - the tool is in nearly every home in Costa Rica.

After the cut-off plant stem is cut down, next to it and in its place, a new one is already growing.

Slicing down bananas is hard physical labor.

The bananas are on their way to the packing station.

Waiting queue to get packed.

Selection of fruit and the division into clusters is performed mainly by women.

The production of bananas - not just a process, it's history, a culture from which grew more than one generation in many countries in Latin America.

The final stage - the packaging.
