The World's Funniest Jokes

I have so many things I want to sit & write and post on, links, thoughts.. but this working thing is leaving little computer time to do it. I have them all in my head and one day soon I am going to get them all down. & I have to look up amigdilla.. or something like that..

I came into work yesterday & Marie was eating a fruit salad. I came, put some in a bowl, got a fork, went to take a bite ..and then she gently put down my fork & motioned to eat with my fingers.. and explained that the eating process starts with our fingertips.. how we realize what is good to eat with the sensors of our fingertips which send a message to the amigdala (s/p?) ..anyway.. it turns out Nicky was right. ..and me spending all that time trying to get him to use utensils. Lol

Yeah so leaving that, we are off to some comedy relief, & …

The Worlds Funniest Jokes

The Laughlab - http://www.laughlab.co.uk/ was created by Richard Wiseman of the University of Hertfordshire in England for what he calls the most comprehensive study ever on the psychology of humor. Since it was launched in September, the site has collected more than 40,000 jokes and ratings from almost 2 million people in 70 countries.

This joke ranked #1:

A couple of hunters are out in the woods when one of them falls to the ground. He doesn't seem to be breathing. His eyes are rolled back in his head.

The other guy whips out his mobile phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps to the operator: "My friend is dead! What can I do?"

The operator, in a calm soothing voice, says: "Just take it easy. First, let's make sure he's dead."

There's silence, then a shot is heard.

The guy's voice comes back on the line. He says, "Okay, now what?"

This one rated a close 2nd:

Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson go on a camping trip. After a good dinner and a bottle of wine, they retire for the night, and go to sleep.
Some hours later, Holmes wakes up and nudges his faithful friend. "Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see."
"I see millions and millions of stars, Holmes" replies Watson.
"And what do you deduce from that?"Watson ponders for a minute.
"Well, astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo. Horologically, I deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three. Meteorologically, I suspect that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. Theologically, I can see that God is all powerful, and that we are a small and insignificant part of the universe. What does it tell you, Holmes?"
Holmes is silent for a moment. "Watson, you idiot!" he says. "Someone has stolen our tent!"

When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ballpoint pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat the problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion to develop a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, underwater, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to 300 C. The Russians used a pencil.

Top joke in Australia

This woman rushed to see her doctor, looking very much worried and all strung out. She rattles off: “Doctor, take a look at me. When I woke up this morning, I looked at myself in the mirror and saw my hair all wiry and frazzled up, my skin was all wrinkled and pasty, my eyes were bloodshot and bugging out, and I had this corpse-like look on my face! What's WRONG with me, Doctor!?” The doctor looks her over for a couple of minutes, then calmly says: “Well, I can tell you that there ain't nothing wrong with your eyesight....”

Top joke in Belgium

Why do ducks have webbed feet?To stamp out fires.
Why do elephants have flat feet?To stamp out burning ducks.

Check out more funny jokes from the UK regions: http://www.laughlab.co.uk/regionWinners.html

& joke tip: Many of the jokes submitted contained reference to animals. We found that jokes mentioning ducks were seen as funnier than other jokes. And so it’s official – ducks are the funniest comedy animals. Perhaps it’s because of their beaks, or webbed feet, or odd shape. Regardless, the implication is clear – if you are going to tell a joke involving an animal, make it a duck.

Alien water - excerpt from Masaru Emoto's The Hidden Messages in Water

From Masaru Emoto's The Hidden Messages in Water. p. 56-58

“My investigation into the mysteries of water makes me think that water is something not of this earth.
Why do you think there is so much water on this earth? Most explanations say that when the earth was formed, some 4.6 billion years ago, water turned to steam, evaporated and formed rain that fell on the earth, resulting in the creation of the oceans.
But it all started with the birth of the sun. Lumps of gas came together and started rotating, forming a red ball. The remaining dust and gasses came together and formed the earth and the other planets in the solar system. At this time, the earth was still a ball of burning magma that contained hydrogen. As the magma cooled, the hydrogen evaporated into the newly formed atmosphere.
But not all scholars agree with this theory, and some offer radically different alternatives. One such scholar was Louis Frank of the University of Iowa, who has proposed that water arrived on this planet in the form of lunps of ice from outer space.
Professor Frank began his investigation when he became puzzled by the fact that satellite photographs showed black spots ; he reached the conclusion that these black spots were comets that were falling to earth.
These mini comets are actually balls of water and ice weighing a hundred tons or more, and falling into the earth’s atmosphere at a rate of about twenty per minute (or ten million per year). The theory is that these balls of ice bombarded the earth forty billion years ago, crating the seas and oceans, and this same phenomenon continues today.
As the earth’s gravity pulls these ice comets into the atmosphere, the heat of the sun evaporates them and turns them into gas. As they fall fifty0five kilometers from outer space, the gas particles mix with the air in the atmosphere and are blown about, falling to the earth as rain or snow.
A few years ago, an announcement by NSA and the University of Hawaii that Dr. Frank’s theory does have credibility was widely publicized by the media, but there are still many scientists who refuse to accept this new way of looking at the world.
If this new approach were to gain widespread credibility, it would require many of the books in the world’s libraries to be rewritten. It would have an impact on almost all of the scientific theories related to life on this planet, such as the origin of man and Darwin’s theory of evolution.
It is universally accepted that there can be no life without water, and if we accept that water, the source of all life, was sent from outer space, then logic leads us to the conclusion that all life, including that of human beings, is alien to this planet.
But if we go along with this theory of water being extraterrestrial, then perhaps we can better understand the many unusual characteristics of water.
Why does ice float? Why is water able to dissolve so much? Why is a towel able to soak up water, seemingly in defiance of the laws of gravity? From the standpoint that water is not of this world, these and other mysteries surrounding water may seem a little less difficult to understand.”

South Pacific treehouse island adventure

I am off on a Mativa treehouse vacation adventure on the Samoa Islands today. I am thinking that getting a Samoan drivers license might be a good idea.. or maybe just taking the Green Turtle tour each day.. hmm. Yeah, but maybe get the drivers license for when I come back.
http://www.samoa-hotels.com/mativa/Index.html

Samoa travel is about exploring, stunning beaches and above all else, a traditional and extremely friendly and genuine culture. This is the real South Pacific dream - and those travellers' that are put off of tired of the commercial aspects of Fiji, Cook Islands and Tahiti will find the Samoan Islands to be a nothng but delightful. This is the place to experience off the beaten travel, a little adventure and no crowds.
From http://www.go-samoa.com/

I was thinking about something I read last night from Jinjees daily e-mail - The Daily Raw Inspiration - 8/25/06 The Jade Hunters
To fully live – i.e. to be healthy - on this planet for Storm means wandering the mountains at night, diving into a waterfall, sailing alone in heavy weather, and somehow feeling like a part of the elements of this breathtaking planet.’
She mentioned how one of Storms favorite activities is hunting for Jade in Big Sur.. anyway, what I was thinking is that we all should be able to live like this. Strangely enough, enjoying life is almost a foreign concept to some people. How many of us live life to the fullest? How many get even ½ way there. It is possible to live life fully, enjoying each moment. ..& that’s my thought for the day. ; ) Have a great one!

May wins vote to lead Greens
Aug. 27, 2006. 01:00 AM
SUSAN DELACOURT
OTTAWA BUREAU CHIEF

OTTAWA—The new Green Party of Canada leader is Elizabeth May, a firebrand environmental activist who is promising to haul the party into the same public spotlight where she's spent much of her high-profile career.

She also is vowing that Canadians could see some kind of "parliamentary presence" of the Green party as soon as the Commons returns next month..

"I'm expecting that when the House returns on Sept. 18, you'll already notice a difference, in that the Green party will be present and effective in parliamentary democracy, even before we win a seat in the next election," she told reporters.

..She wouldn't elaborate on how that was going to happen, but May has proved to have a knack for publicity and networking with people of influence, so few will be surprised to see the Greens' voice more amplified in the halls of power.

"It should not go without notice, gentlemen and ladies of the press, that the upholstery in the House of Commons is already green," she said.
"And we are the only party that matches the upholstery."

The Green party voted in favour of pulling out of the North American Free Trade Agreement at its convention this weekend and May bluntly declared it was because the agreement is no longer working for Canada's best interests, especially on softwood lumber.

"The government of Canada under (Prime Minister) Stephen Harper has just signalled if you push us hard enough, we'll finally say uncle," May said, to wild cheers from delegates at the leadership convention in Ottawa.
The Harper government is in the midst of concluding a softwood-lumber agreement with the United States that was met with controversy by the industry in Canada because it allows the U.S. to keep a share of duties it collected in violation of repeated NAFTA rulings.
May said it's clear now NAFTA has become a "one-way ratchet down on labour rights and the environment" for Canada.

Similarly, she says Canadians have to start speaking up more against the policies of George W. Bush's administration, with which Harper has been trying to cultivate more friendly ties.
"The reality is that policies of the U.S. president imperil us here," May said.

…She also had some strong words for Harper's governing style overall.
"My impression of Mr. Harper is that he is a man who takes primarily his own counsel. I think it's dangerous. I think he's a person who rules with one-person rule within his government, approving every single speech that any of his ministers give. I lived and worked in Ottawa for two decades and I've never seen anything like it. It's repressive and it's not healthy and I would urge Mr. Harper to open up and listen to other people."

…Her victory signals how badly the Green party is looking for clout, influence and an electoral breakthrough. The leadership had mainly been a contest between May and Chernushenko. The two had almost no policy differences, except on NAFTA; the race came down to a question about what was the best winning formula for the Greens.

May's panache won out over Chernushenko's organizational clout, even though he was the candidate apparently with more money and contributors.

coconuts, cacao bars, watermelons, pigeons and iridology

What fun day yesterday.. I had a totally raw high experience. Around 3:00 someone who was storing coconuts at the store came in & 1st shared a 20$ (4 oz) chocolate bar.. it was amazing.. I was amazed at the price at first.. but it was incredibly delicious.
It was a YumiYa bar: raw cacao, hemp, acai berries, vanilla beans, camu berries, maca root, yacon root and cococreme.

Check them out : http://www.livinglibations.com

Then he opened a couple young green coconuts and we mixed the water with E3Live.. I was off at 4 & had to be in the beaches (job #2) for 5.. so time was running out but we got everything cleaned up & finished & I made it in time.

However as I left the store I noticed this incredible sensation.. almost hard to describe.. a more exhilarated version of the natural raw high you sometimes get ..my cells were buzzing, I felt in love with everything, that’s not so unusual, I get that a lot.. but everything loved me back.. I don’t know, it doesn’t sound as good as it felt. It was way better than any chemical, synthetic high .. one of those on top of the world feelings, totally in tune & everything is incredibly beautiful.
Ok, so I am in this dreamy love mode full of wonder & awe.. and I get into the subway station, Bathurst.. and its 2 floors down where the train comes and there is this pigeon down there.. walking along the yellow line at the edge where the train comes along.. it is pecking at the ground but there’s no food there.. and I keep thinking about the pigeon.. I wonder if he’ll be able to find his way out & I want to help.. but he wouldn’t understand.. & I am wondering about pigeon mentality when the train comes in.. the pigeon doesn’t leave the yellow line, even with the train speeding by.. still walking, nothing bothering him.. the train doors open right in front of him, it looked like he was going to get on.. but he just kept walking by.. and that’s the end of my pigeon story. lol

But a friend who dropped by @ Seagull (job #2) told me that pigeons go down there all the time & they will get out the same way they get in.. I was happy about that, but a little sad because it made my pigeon story seen kind of ordinary & it seemed so extraordinary @ the time. O well.
Still a great moment. O & after the coconuts we had a fruit exchange. I had this huge beautiful just perfect mango which I gave to my friend with the incredible coconuts & chocolate bars.. and he gave me an incredible organic watermelon. The girl I worked with later said it was the best watermelon she had ever tasted. .. & yes, it was that good.

I just looked at my eyes in the mirror and this little brown spot which I have been monitoring for the past year & ½ since I went raw.. is gone. I hadn’t looked for awhile.. forgot about it for the past couple months.. and it’s gone. I had a feeling it would… according to iridology you can see illnesses & things wrong in the body through the flecks & colouring of the iris. My eyes were always fairly clear, except for this tiny brown dot at the bottom of my right eye.. I figured it was something in my body & would eventually heal itself if I kept eating these incredible foods.. raw fruits & veg, blue-green algae, superfoods, etc. & yes! it’s gone. Some people believe in iridology, some don’t.. what I have noticed is that raw foodists have the most clear whites and beautiful, even coloured irises.. & from this alone it seems there must be something to it.

From: http://www.cwinds.com/iridology/

What Is Iridology?
Iridology is a quick, accurate and painless system of health analysis through the examination of the colored part of the eye known as the iris. Proclaimed throughout the ages as "windows of the soul", the eyes are now acknowledged as mirrors of the body and compared to miniature television screens recording the condition of the various organs and tissues throughout the body.

How does Iridology work?
The iris is an extension of the brain endowed with many thousands of nerve endings, microscopic blood vessels, as well as muscle and connective tissue. Every organ is connected to the iris via the nervous system and the nerve fibres receiving their impulses through the optic nerve, optic thalami, and the spinal cord.

Listening

I am listening for a sound
beyond soundthat stalks the nightland of my dreams,
entering rooms of fossil-light
so ancient they are swarmed by truth.

I am listening for a sound
beyond usthat travels the spine's
invisible ladder to the orphic library.
Where rebel books revel in the unremitting light.
Printed in gray, tiny words with quicksand depth
embroidered with such care they
render spirit a ghost, and God,
a telescope turned backwards upon itself
dreaming us awake.

Never-blooming thoughts surround me
like a regatta of crewless ships.
I listen leopard-like,
canting off the quarantine of bodies
sickened by the monsoon of still hearts.
There is certain magic
in the heartbeat which crowds the sound I seek,
but it is still underneath the beating I wish to go.
Underneath the sound of all things
huddled against the tracking dishes
that turn their heads to the sound of stars.

I am listening for a sound unwound,
so vacant it stares straight with the purity to peer
into the black madness of time
sowing visions that oscillate in our wombs
bearing radiant forms as the substrate of our form.

When I look to the compass needle
I see a blade of humility
bent to a force waylaid like wild rain
channeled in sewer pipes.
Running underground
in concrete canals that quiver,
laughing up at us as though we were lost
in the sky-world with no channel for our ride.

I am listening for a soundin your voice,
past the scrub terrain of your door
where my ear is listening on the other side.
Beneath your heart where words go awkward
and light consumes the delicate construction of mingled lives.
I can only listen for the sound I know is there,
glittering in that unpronounceable,
stateless statequarried of limbs so innocent
they mend the flesh of hearts.

"There have been those upon terra-earth who have experienced a shallow breath of wind from this powerful tempest. Some have called it ascension; others have attributed names like illumination, vision, enlightenment, nirvana, and cosmic consciousness. While these experiences are profound in human standards, they are only the initial stirrings of the Sovereign Integral, as it becomes increasingly adept at touching and awakening the remote edges of its existence. What most species define as the ultimate bliss is merely the impression of the Sovereign Integral whispering to its outposts of form and nudging them to look within to their roots of existence and unite with this formless and limitless intelligence that pervades all.

The transformational experience is far beyond the calibration of the human drama much like the stars in the sky are beyond the touch of terra-earth. You can observe the stars with your human eyes, but you will never touch them with your human hands. Similarly, you can dimly foresee the transformational experience with the human instrument, but you cannot experience it through the human instrument. It is only accessed through the wholeness of the entity, for it is only in wholeness that the Source Codes and their residual effects of Source Reality perception can exist. And truly, this wholeness is only obtained when the individual consciousness is separated from time and is able to view its existence in timelessness.

Tree Houses & Stars

Tree House by Shel Silverstein

A tree house.
A free house.
A secret you and me house.
A high up in the leafy branches.
A happy as can be house.
A street house.
A neat house.
A be sure to wipe your feet house,
is not the kind of house for me.
Let's go and live in a treehouse.

Lying in a teeehouse staring at the stars.. on a dark clear night.
Someone I worked with last week told me that if you took all of the stars that are visible from Earth.. and reduced them to the size of the tip of a pin, they would fill a thimble. If you took all the stars in the entire universe and reduced them equally they would fit into train boxcars that circle the Earth 4 times!

Answers to important questions:

what's the source of vegetables?
where does blue come from?
what happens when you freeze stars?
What is the language of stars?
& How many watermelons does it take to fill a thimble?

From the past link there is info on the origins of water.

Mangos, Physician of the Soul, Dioxins, mass poisoning

I am rushing so much lately.. getting used to working & still fitting all the things I feel are important into the day. I made it to yoga last night. I feel I don’t get enough gym/yoga time into the day.. going to try going more in the evening.. get into a schedule with it. Maybe I can get more into doing a yoga routine here at home 1st thing in the morning. Well, the good thing is though that I am not trading something good I used to do for something bad. I enjoy work.. & maybe I just can’t do it all.. life’s like that, it changes. It’ll all work out.

Tonight we are taking Kaiya out for her birthday, with a bunch of her friends for dinner.. they want to go to the Mandarin, big Chinese buffet.. at least they always have lots of fruit! She’s wondering if I have her present.. I do, she doesn’t read my blog.. lots of Mac make-up, which is exactly what she wants. I can’t tell about Mom’s present though.. she wants a very hard to find book, that is out of print – Johannes Itten – The element of color. Itten was a teacher at Bauhaus, design.. was very controversial, among the academia. He taught about Eastern Mysticism & lots of spirituality based topics, would have the classes meditating at the start of the class & he eventually got kicked out. I liked hearing stories of him most of all.. he was the most interesting instructor & his color theory, what he was most noted for is still widely used. Google him if you’re interested. I have to run.. walk actually.. to the post office before work.. am rushing now.. The phone rang, mid-blog – up there a few sentences.. it was a friend I haven’t heard from in a long time.. one of my favorite friends.. but we don’t see each other much these days. Hopefully, that’s temporary. & then, spur of the moment (I can be a little impulsive) I ran out to the market for more mangoes. I bought 2 cases. I love them so much! It seems I just am not able to od on mangoes! : ) It’s mango day!!!
..but now I have g2g! Have a great day!

A Blast of Mango! smoothie
1 ripe mango, peeled and diced
1/2 ripe banana peeled and sliced
1/2 c orange juice
Boost: Add 1 TBSP Northern Edge Milled Flaxseed, this drink will keep you going for hours.
Tip: Chop and freeze the fruit, prior to use. Place all ingredients into a blender, process and enjoy immediately!

From a cancer update from Johns Hopkins newsletter:

Dioxins are chemicals which cause cancer, especially breast cancer.
Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies.

Freezing plastic bottles with water in them releases dioxins from the plastic.

Heating food in the microwave using plastic containers also releases dioxins. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. The combination of fat, high heat, and plastic is especially dangerous, it releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Use glass - Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food instead. You get the same results, only without the dioxin.

So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else.

Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper.
It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.

Plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food.

Cover food with a paper towel instead.

Judith, Great Canadian women, life, 16th c. Herb & Flower Salad

Yesterday @ 3:11 was exactly 1 year from when Judith passed away..

I was just reading Randy’s website about how he was feeling. It’s been a tough year for him. I remember also the minutes before she died, it’s true she was gone & it was just her physical body dying..

I hope her positive spirit inspires you, Randy, to move forward, be proactive, creative, as you are.. I like the direction you are going with the video/recording studio – retreat.. well, I just made that up. But it has so much potential – as you do & music, creativity, design are all your strengths. It sounds exciting & fun, as life is supposed to be.. I am convinced of that.

“I'm currently following the interesting Leadership Convention for the Green Party of Canada - here in Outaways on this Weds-Sun. With luck Elizabeth May will be elected the new leader. I even joined the party - yow, never done that before - we'll have to see... Elizabeth is five star excellent, and I hope she does become the party leader, because if she does, I believe she will be elected into the Commons, will be the first Green Party MP in Canada, and finally there will be a strong voice for the environment in parliament. At the very least, she will get the Greens allowed onto the television election debates, and the environment might, just might finally get more attention in Canada. - we'll see..." - from a friends e-mail ; )

I can see life pouring from people's eyes. They say that eyes are the windows of the soul. Why do we feel certain discomfortwhile looking into another person's eyes? I can take a doll and look into its eyes for hours and I won't feel any discomfort whatsoever. But when I look into people's eyes I definitely experience a sensation, which can sometimes be dramatic. I know that I can sense alot with my eyes. For example, I can tell if the person is looking at me or not from a remote distance, like the other side of a soccerfield. Many times I have wondered, how could I tell? The pupils of the human eye are as tiny as letters in a book. While I cannot read a bookfrom the other side of a soccer field, I can tell for sure if my friend is looking at me because I can feel the connection with this person through our eyes. Awareness of this magnificent power in me, called life, fills me with joy and appreciation. There is life in every single cell of our body and maybe even beyond our body. Once, my husband and I participated in a healthexpo in Canada. Soon after our arrival we discovered a Kirlian photography* booth that offered whole body pictures taken with a special camera. Both Igor and I ordered such pictures. We were amazed to discover that our energy on those pictures appeared to be a lot bigger than our physical bodies and it looked as an oval-shaped cloud. After spending two long hard-working days at that expo, each one of us took a second picture from the same photographer. This time we were disappointed because our energy clouds looked a lot smaller and were not evenly shaped. From that experience I concluded that our life energy is constantly changing depending on our actions and theconditions we live in.

Urantia Revisited V - selected quotes

Your short sojourn on Urantia, on this sphere of mortal infancy, is only a single link, the very first in the long chain that is to stretch across universes and through the eternal ages. It is not so much what you learn in this first life; it is the experience of living this life that is important. Even the work of this world, paramount though it is, is not nearly so important as the way in which you do this work. There is no material reward for righteous living, but there is profound satisfaction--consciousness of achievement--and this transcends any conceivable material reward. P. 435

“Do not permit the magnitude of God, his infinity, either to obscure or eclipse his personality. "He who planned the ear, shall he not hear? He who formed the eye, shall he not see?" The Universal Father is the acme of divine personality; he is the origin and destiny of personality throughout all creation. God is both infinite and personal; he is an infinite personality. The Father is truly a personality, notwithstanding that the infinity of his person places him forever beyond the full comprehension of material and finite beings. P. 27

“God is not only the determiner of destiny; he is man's eternal destination. All nonreligious human activities seek to bend the universe to the distorting service of self; the truly religious individual seeks to identify the self with the universe and then to dedicate the activities of this unified self to the service of the universe family of fellow beings, human and superhuman.” P. 67

The Spirit never drives, only leads. If you are a willing learner, if you want to attain spirit levels and reach divine heights, if you sincerely desire to reach the eternal goal, then the divine Spirit will gently and lovingly lead you along the pathway of sonship and spiritual progress. Every step you take must be one of willingness, intelligent and cheerful co-operation. The domination of the Spirit is never tainted with coercion nor compromised by compulsion.” P. 381

When you are through down here, when your course has been run in temporary form on earth, when your trial trip in the flesh is finished, when the dust that composes the mortal tabernacle "returns to the earth whence it came"; then, it is revealed, the indwelling "Spirit shall return to God who gave it." There sojourns within each moral being of this planet a fragment of God, a part and parcel of divinity. It is not yet yours by right of possession, but it is designedly intended to be one with you if you survive the mortal existence.” P. 26

A new and fuller revelation of the religion of Jesus is destined to conquer an empire of materialistic secularism and to overthrow a world sway of mechanistic naturalism. Urantia is now quivering on the very brink of one of its most amazing and enthralling epochs of social readjustment, moral quickening, and spiritual enlightenment.” P. 2082

“A thoroughly selfish soul cannot pray in the true sense of the word. P. 1639 But real praying does attain reality. Even when the air currents are ascending, no bird can soar except by outstretched wings. Prayer elevates man because it is a technique of progressing by the utilization of the ascending spiritual currents of the universe.... Words are irrelevant to prayer…. God answers the soul's attitude, not the words. P. 1002

“There is in the mind of God a plan which embraces every creature of all his vast domains, and this plan is an eternal purpose of boundless opportunity, unlimited progress, and endless life. And the infinite treasures of such a matchless career are yours for the striving!
The
goal of eternity is ahead! The adventure of divinity attainment lies before you! The race for perfection is on! whosoever will may enter, and certain victory will crown the efforts of every human being who will run the race of faith and trust, depending every step of the way on the leading of the indwelling Adjuster and on the guidance of that good spirit of the Universe Son, which so freely has been poured out upon all flesh.” P.365

“Having started out on the way of life everlasting, having accepted the assignment and received your orders to advance, do not fear the dangers of human forgetfulness and mortal inconstancy, do not be troubled with doubts of failure or by perplexing confusion, do not falter and question your status and standing, for in every dark hour, at every crossroad in the forward struggle, the Spirit of Truth will always speak, saying, "This is the way."” P. 383

Of God, the most inescapable of all presences, the most real of all facts, the most living of all truths, the most loving of all friends, and the most divine of all values, we have the right to be the most certain of all universe experiences.” P. 1127

Urantia Revisited IV - Morontia Mota

Urantia just gained another posting. It was originally going to be 4 ..but I liked & wanted to post this - Morantia Mota. I am rushng out for work.. & this is interesting. I will get back to links & thoughts & day to day stuff soon.. lots to write about. Have a great day!

7. MORONTIA MOTA

The lower planes of morontia mota join directly with the higher levels of human philosophy. On the first mansion world it is the practice to teach the less advanced students by the parallel technique; that is, in one column are presented the more simple concepts of mota meanings, and in the opposite column citation is made of analogous statements of mortal philosophy.

Not long since, while executing an assignment on the first mansion world of Satania, I had occasion to observe this method of teaching; and though I may not undertake to present the mota content of the lesson, I am permitted to record the twenty-eight statements of human philosophy which this morontia instructor was utilizing as illustrative material designed to assist these new mansion world sojourners in their early efforts to grasp the significance and meaning of mota. These illustrations of human philosophy were:

1. A display of specialized skill does not signify possession of spiritual capacity. Cleverness is not a substitute for true character.

2. Few persons live up to the faith which they really have. Unreasoned fear is a master intellectual fraud practiced upon the evolving mortal soul.

3. Inherent capacities cannot be exceeded; a pint can never hold a quart. The spirit concept cannot be mechanically forced into the material memory mold.

4. Few mortals ever dare to draw anything like the sum of personality credits established by the combined ministries of nature and grace. The majority of impoverished souls are truly rich, but they refuse to believe it.

5. Difficulties may challenge mediocrity and defeat the fearful, but they only stimulate the true children of the Most Highs.

6. To enjoy privilege without abuse, to have liberty without license, to possess power and steadfastly refuse to use it for self-aggrandizement--these are the marks of
high civilization.

7. Blind and unforeseen accidents do not occur in the cosmos. Neither do the celestial beings assist the lower being who refuses to act upon his light of truth.

8. Effort does not always produce joy, but there is no happiness without intelligent effort.

9. Action achieves strength; moderation eventuates in charm.

10. Righteousness strikes the harmony chords of truth, and the melody vibrates throughout the cosmos, even to the recognition of the Infinite.

11. The weak indulge in resolutions, but the strong act. Life is but a day's work--do it well. The act is ours; the consequences God's.

12. The greatest affliction of the cosmos is never to have been afflicted. Mortals only learn wisdom by experiencing tribulation.

13. Stars are best discerned from the lonely isolation of experiential depths, not from the illuminated and ecstatic mountain tops.

14. Whet the appetites of your associates for truth; give advice only when it is asked for.

15. Affectation is the ridiculous effort of the ignorant to appear wise, the attempt of the barren soul to appear rich.

16. You cannot perceive spiritual truth until you feelingly experience it, and many truths are not really felt except in
adversity.

17. Ambition is dangerous until it is fully socialized. You have not truly acquired any virtue until your acts make you worthy of it.

18. Impatience is a spirit poison; anger is like a stone hurled into a hornet's nest.

19. Anxiety must be abandoned. The disappointments hardest to bear are those which never come.

20. Only a poet can discern poetry in the commonplace prose of routine existence.

21. The high mission of any art is, by its illusions, to foreshadow a higher universe reality, to crystallize the emotions of time into the thought of eternity.

22. The evolving soul is not made divine by what it does, but by what it strives to do.

23. Death added nothing to the intellectual possession or to the spiritual endowment, but it did add to the experiential status the consciousness of survival.

24. The destiny of eternity is determined moment by moment by the achievements of the day by day living. The acts of today are the destiny of tomorrow.

25. Greatness lies not so much in possessing strength as in making a wise and divine use of such strength.

26. Knowledge is possessed only by
sharing; it is safeguarded by wisdom and socialized by love.

27. Progress demands development of individuality; mediocrity seeks perpetuation in standardization.

28. The argumentative defense of any proposition is inversely proportional to the truth contained.

Such is the work of the beginners on the first mansion world while the more advanced pupils on the later worlds are mastering the higher levels of cosmic insight and morontia mota.

Urantia revisited III - selected quotes

“During the psychologically unsettled times of the twentieth century, amid the economic upheavals, the moral crosscurrents, and the sociologic rip tides of the cyclonic transitions of a scientific era, thousands upon thousands of men and women have become humanly dislocated; they are anxious, restless, fearful, uncertain, and unsettled; as never before in the world's history they need the consolation and stabilization of sound religion. In the face of unprecedented scientific achievement and mechanical development there is spiritual stagnation and philosophic chaos.” P. 1090

Curiosity--the spirit of investigation, the urge of discovery, the drive of exploration--is a part of the inborn and divine endowment of evolutionary space creatures. These natural impulses were not given you merely to be frustrated and repressed. True, these ambitious urges must frequently be restrained during your short life on earth, disappointment must be often experienced, but they are to be fully realized and gloriously gratified during the long ages to come.” P. 160 Yes! : )

“The religious challenge of this age is to those farseeing and forward-looking men and women of spiritual insight who will dare to construct a new and appealing philosophy of living out of the enlarged and exquisitely integrated modern concepts of cosmic truth, universe beauty, and divine goodness. Such a new and righteous vision of morality will attract all that is good in the mind of man and challenge that which is best in the human soul. Truth, beauty, and goodness are divine realities, and as man ascends the scale of spiritual living, these supreme qualities of the Eternal become increasingly co-ordinated and unified in God, who is love.” P. 43

“Of health and sanity man understands much, but of happiness he has truly realized very little. The highest happiness is indissolubly linked with spiritual progress. Spiritual growth yields lasting joy, peace which passes all understanding.” P. 1098

“Religion inspires man to live courageously and joyfully on the face of the earth; it joins patience with passion, insight to zeal, sympathy with power, and ideals with energy.
Man can never wisely decide temporal issues or transcend the selfishness of personal interests unless he meditates in the presence of the sovereignty of God and reckons with the realities of divine meanings and spiritual values.” P. 1093

“There is a great and glorious purpose in the march of the universes through space. All of your mortal struggling is not in vain. We are all part of an immense plan, a gigantic enterprise, and it is the vastness of the undertaking that renders it impossible to see very much of it at any one time and during any one life. We are all a part of an eternal project which the Gods are supervising and outworking. The whole marvelous and universal mechanism moves on majestically through space to the music of the meter of the infinite thought and the eternal purpose of the First Great Source and Center.” P. 364

“There is no real religion apart from a highly active personality… But true religion is alive.” P. 1120 “Personality is that cosmic endowment, that phase of universal reality, which can coexist with unlimited change and at the same time retain its identity in the very presence of all such changes, and forever afterward.” P. 1434 “Personality is basically changeless; that which changes--grows--is the moral character.” P. 1572 “Human personality is the time-space image-shadow cast by the divine Creator personality.” P. 29
“Personality follows types but is always unique.” P. 1220 “Few mortals ever dare to draw anything like the sum of personality credits established by the combined ministries of nature and grace. The majority of impoverished souls are truly rich, but they refuse to believe it.” P. 556

The religion of the spirit means effort, struggle, conflict, faith, determination, love, loyalty, and progress. The religion of the mind--the theology of authority--requires little or none of these exertions from its formal believers. Tradition is a safe refuge and an easy path for those fearful and halfhearted souls who instinctively shun the spirit struggles and mental uncertainties associated with those faith voyages of daring adventure out upon the high seas of unexplored truth in search for the farther shores of spiritual realities as they may be discovered by the progressive human mind and experienced by the evolving human soul.” P. 1729

“Almost everything of lasting value in civilization has its roots in the family.” P. 765 “The family is man's greatest purely human achievement, combining as it does the evolution of the biologic relations of male and female with the social relations of husband and wife.” P. 939 “Truly, it is not good for man to be alone.” P. 1775

“Never forget there is only one adventure which is more satisfying and thrilling than the attempt to discover the will of the living God, and that is the supreme experience of honestly trying to do that divine will. And fail not to remember that the will of God can be done in any earthly occupation. Some callings are not holy and others secular. All things are sacred in the lives of those who are spirit led; that is, subordinated to truth, ennobled by love, dominated by mercy, and restrained by fairness--justice.” P. 1732

My day

I was planning on writing more on Urantia today.. but I have lots to get off my chest. Good stuff, but lots.. I was in overdrive yesterday. I woke up very early & without even a shower, which I never do.. that’s my most important ritual of the day, jumping into the shower 1st thing. But yesterday I thought I would change it up a bit, washed my face.. gym clothes & went to the gym for an early morning run, elliptical for 20 min.. just cause I love going on that machine.. I have my music & just Zen-out, then a quick workout with weights- cables etc..– arms - tris & shoulders.. but it felt so great, home- shower, smoothies for my & my friends, then went groc shopping. Wrote my blog, & the usual, laundry is an every day thing around here (3 teenagers), cleaned up scrubbed the tub & all that.. then went to the post office to mail a pkg to my mom.. all b4 work!

we often send packages to each other. I just got one from her with peppermint oil, ‘Believe’ oil (Young Living) – a sample, cause I didn’t think I would like it.. because of the woodsy oil in it, but it’s amazing. Mom said it would raise your vibrations.. think it was one high on the scale, some are incredible.. It balances energys, uplifts emotions, raises frequencies and moves you to a higher level of awareness. It contains Idaho Balsam Fir, rosewood & frankincense. Cool.
She also send me litmus paper.. I asked her to.. she said of all the stores in Toronto, you want me to send you litmus paper?.. but she knows where to get it, I didn’t – at the time, Marie at work knew.. but too late, pkg sent. (easy shopping ; ) & she sent a jar of Living tree community Almond butter.. I talked about it once before.. I was on the American freedom topic, but anyway.. it’s supposed to be incredible. I haven’t opened it yet.. have one on the go. Looking forward to it! Thanks Mom! : ) http://www.livingtreecommunity.com/store2/product.asp?id=11&catid=1

& then I went to work. I was on a roll. Great day at work also.. 1st Marie had some honey products that someone left behind at their booth at the market.,. she left them for a week or two in case she found the owner, but nothing. So she had this wildflower honey- I had bought some from the same honey guy at the market & looked & contemplated buying the face cream he had.. but since I rarely ever put anything on my face.. and when I do it’s usually shea butter, sometimes with a drop or two of certain essential oils, fav = lavender & sandalwood – I decided not to buy it. But I was interested.. esp cause the 1st ingredient in it is propolis – I used to take propolis.. but that’s another subject, another day.. wait. I just ran & got it.. the ingredients are propolis, honey, pollen, beeswax & royal jelly. So Marie had it & gave it to me.. she said she only uses shea butter on her face also. Guess I was meant to try it. I put it on last night & again this morning.. will see.

This is getting long.. but another really cool thing that happened yesterday - We got in cases of young green coconuts. The are so fresh.. they were actually on trees in Costa Rica 2 days before. That’s incredible – just cut them, ship them & here they are. I had a lesson on cutting them.. a little more challenging than the white ones, the ones with the fiber cut around it & wrapped in plastic. The green ones are much younger than those.. they have less actual coconut meat - actually gel inside them.. some had none.. but are filled with water & less of a taste, not as coconuty & sweet.. still incredibly good & supposed to be incredibly good for you. The water from coconuts & mothers milk are the only 2 things with lauric acid.. great for metabolism and it has antimicrobial properties, this is what gives immunity to babies, it will protect you from viruses and bacteria. the water is like plasma.. and if you mix it with E3Live or wheatgrass or anything really high in chlorophyll, which is like our blood.. it’s just like getting a blood transfusion.. the chlorophyll will zoom right into your cells. I am getting a paper e-mailed to me on the benefits of coconut water.. I know it’s an incredible combo, I used to mix coconut water w/ spirulina b4 going to the gym. Super energy!
So here I am with a 18" long knife.. or seemed it, almost anyway.. 'Hold it high up & slice it, think right through it.. Keep your thumb back' Hey, it's hard to grip a coconut with your thmb back.. and everyone backing up.. and grabbing their coconuts ,taking them with them.. yeah, they don't want any blood in their precious coconuts! sheesh.. lol I def need more pracise but that was way fun!!

Ok.. time is running out, & there was so much. I went shopping with a friend last night & scored on some great new clothes. Am wearing a new top, it’s long, almost like a dress – grey/black/blue roses over a long black skirt.. love new clothes! Clothes are lots of fun.
I saw young green coconuts at the Chinese market last night also, 1st time I ever saw them there.. but maybe I just didn’t notice them b4 – it’s possible, but you would think that if I saw the word coconut I’d be on it. They were cheaper 1.50$.. but they looked a lot older, kind of bruised & soft.

We made a new smoothie at work.. just b4 the coconut guy came – The day before we had a film crew in, they were renting the space for a few hours. Had a huge catered lunch & then they were filming after. They rent the space once in awhile. So we had some fruit salad left over from that in our fridge.. great fridge btw.. it’s a walk in, like a small room, with shelves around the edges. So we put the whole fruit salad & lots of pea green &/or sunflower sprouts & blended.. & it was really good. I don’t usually put melon in a smoothie.. but this had a lot of melon in it, & grapes, blueberries, oranges etc. . It was really great. Smoothies are the best.. & they are so easy.

Wow.. I wrote so much.. reminiscing, & great dreams too .. but a new day has begun. Enjoy.
Have the best and most beautiful day ever!

Urantia revisited II - Adam and Eve

On a planetary mission the Material Son and Daughter are commissioned to found the Adamic race of that world, a race designed eventually to amalgamate with the mortal inhabitants of that sphere.” P.415

“primitive man reaches the limit of natural evolutionary development, and this biologic attainment signals the System Sovereign to dispatch to such a world the second order of sonship, the biologic uplifters. These Sons, for there are two of them--the Material Son and Daughter--are usually known on a planet as Adam and Eve. The original Material Son of Satania is Adam, and those who go to the system worlds as biologic uplifters always carry the name of this first and original Son of their unique order.” P. 580

“When a Planetary Adam and Eve arrive on an inhabited world, they have been fully instructed by their superiors as to the best way to effect the improvement of the existing races of intelligent beings. The plan of procedure is not uniform; much is left to the judgment of the ministering pair, and mistakes are not infrequent, especially on disordered, insurrectionary worlds, such as Urantia.” P. 585

“When Material Sons, the biologic uplifters, begin their sojourn on an evolutionary world, their place of abode is often called the Garden of Eden because it is characterized by the floral beauty and the botanic grandeur of Edentia, the constellation capital.” P.823

“Adam and Eve were gardeners, not shepherds, and gardening was an advanced culture in those days. The growing of plants exerts an ennobling influence on all races of mankind.” P. 769

“Adam and Eve arrived on Urantia, from the year A.D. 1934, 37,848 years ago. It was in midseason when the Garden was in the height of bloom that they arrived. At high noon and unannounced, the two seraphic transports, accompanied by the Jerusem personnel intrusted with the transportation of the biologic uplifters to Urantia, settled slowly to the surface of the revolving planet in the vicinity of the temple of the Universal Father. All the work of rematerializing the bodies of Adam and Eve was carried on within the precincts of this newly created shrine. And from the time of their arrival ten days passed before they were re-created in dual human form for presentation as the world's new rulers. They regained consciousness simultaneously. The Material Sons and Daughters always serve together. It is the essence of their service at all times and in all places never to be separated. They are designed to work in pairs; seldom do they function alone.” P. 828

“While there was a miscarriage of the ideal plans for improving your native races, still, Adam's mission was not in vain; Urantia has profited immeasurably from the gift of Adam and Eve, and among their fellows and in the councils on high their work is not reckoned as a total loss.” P. 580

“The Adamic children attended their own schools until they were sixteen, the younger being taught by the elder. The little folks changed activities every thirty minutes, the older every hour. And it was certainly a new sight on Urantia to observe these children of Adam and Eve at play, joyous and exhilarating activity just for the sheer fun of it. The play and humor of the present-day races are largely derived from the Adamic stock. The Adamites all had a great appreciation of music as well as a keen sense of humor.” P.835

“When all is summed up, Adam and Eve made a mighty contribution to the speedy civilization and accelerated biologic progress of the human race. They left a great culture on earth, but it was not possible for such an advanced civilization to survive in the face of the early dilution and the eventual submergence of the Adamic inheritance. It is the people who make a civilization; civilization does not make the people.” P.854

Urantia Revisited I

The Urantia Book was first published by The Urantia Foundation in 1955. It was authored by celestial beings as a special revelation to our planet, Urantia.

‘The Urantia Foundation was established in 1950 to be the custodian of the inviolate text of The Urantia Book and to ensure that the book’s teachings are spread, with the help of readers and fraternal organizations, to all people. Its ultimate mission is to increase and enhance the comfort, happiness and well being of man, as an individual and a member of society, through the fostering of a religion, a philosophy, and a cosmology which is in line with man’s current intellectual and cultural development.

The books message is that all human beings are one family, the sons and daughters of one God, the Universal Father.

The Urantia Book tells us: “The religious challenge of this age is to those farseeing and forward-looking men and women of spiritual insight who will dare to construct a new and appealing philosophy of living out of the enlarged and exquisitely integrated modern concepts of cosmic truth, universe beauty, and divine goodness” (p. 43.3)

“The part profits or suffers in measure with the whole. The good effort of each man benefits all men; the error or evil of each man augments the tribulation of all men.

As moves the part, so moves the whole. As the progress of the whole, so the progress of the part.

The relative velocities of part and whole determine whether the part is retarded by the inertia of the whole or is carried forward by the momentum of the cosmic brotherhood.

It is a mystery that God is a highly personal self-conscious being with residential headquarters, and at the same time personally present in such a vast universe and personally in contact with such a well-nigh infinite number of beings.

That such a phenomenon is a mystery beyond human comprehension should not in the least lessen your faith.

Do not allow the magnitude of the infinity, the immensity of the eternity, and the grandeur and glory of the matchless character of God to overawe, stagger, or discourage you;

for the Father is not very far from any one of you; he dwells within you,
and in him do we all literally move, actually live, and veritably have our being.”

The Urantia Book 138:6 – 139:1

Science and Salad Dressing - the basics

Putting the size of our world into perspective.

This is really cool!

Secret Worlds: The Universe Within
View the Milky Way at 10 million light years from the Earth. Then move through space towards the Earth in successive orders of magnitude until you reach a tall oak tree just outside the buildings of the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee, Florida. After that, begin to move from the actual size of a leaf into a microscopic world that reveals leaf cell walls, the cell nucleus, chromatin, DNA and finally, into the subatomic universe of electrons and protons.

My favorite Salad Dressing

1 lemon – juiced
Same amount or less olive oil – or garlic-chili flax oil (it’s really, really good!)
1T honey – unpasterurized of course
Celtic sea salt, to taste
& I usually sprinkle in some Mrs Dash, which is a salt free herbal seasoning blend.
& garlic, if I am using olive oil.. unless I am in a rush

Opt. a dash of balsamic vinegar (not raw), or tamari (or nama shoyu)
& once in awhile I use maple syrup instead of honey.. it’s good & mixes well & I have this tiny glass jar I put all the ingredients & take with me for when I am working all day – running from one job to another, like today.

I often get asked how to make my salad dressing & copying it down while I tell them.. so I think this is a pretty good recipe. ..& it's really easy! Enjoy!

Garlic-Chili flax oil from Omega nutrition provides the beneficial essential fatty acids (EFAs) from flax, and anti-oxidants from garlic and chili.
It is micro-processed and low temperature pressed (86 - 99 F / 30 - 37 C) without light and oxygen using the unique omegaflo process.
It comes in a black bottle.
It can be found at many health food stores and even health sections in larger grocery stores. I saw it at Loblaws.
It is organic and the seeds are not genetically modified.

Loren Lockman and the Tanglewood Wellness Center in Panama

Loren Lockman is the founder and director of the Tanglewood Wellness Center in Panama, a supervised fasting retreat. He is a fruitarian and follows natural hygienic principles.

While I greatly admire and respect this way of eating, it is just too stringent for me - at the moment. I do agree with a lot of his theory and principles.

& I would love to go on a fasting retreat at his center!

There was so much info in his lecture yesterday, it was all day, from 10-5..
Here are some interesting notes, quotes, facts and thoughts from it:

The human body has between 30 & 150 trillion cells. It performs 100,000 functions every second. It is totally unmatched by anything ever created by man. –not even close.

The human body is incredibly intelligent.

There are 50 million species on the planet – all functioning at a higher level of health than us humans.

The US has the 72nd highest level of health of all countries. That's very low, esp. considering the amount spent on healthcare (forget exact amount- it was incredibly high – billions).
Canada is not much higher.

One of the problems with medicine lis in asking the wrong questions. (How do we get rid of symptoms?.. how do we get rid of the mucous?) This interferes with the bodies natural process.
Suppressing symptoms only further increases the damage.
The only way to get toxins out of the bloodstream – out of the body, is to wait for the body to filter them out.

“The art of medicine consists of amusing the patient while nature cures the disease” –Voltaire

Chronic diseases develop when we continue to suppress acute symptoms

The body does 2 things – eliminates toxic substances or stores them.

80% of Noth Americans will die of cancer, heart disease or stroke.
The fastest growing cancer is colon cancer.
Colon cancer does not happen by accident.

The food we eat should travel through the body and be eliminated in 8-12 hours. The transit time of the average North American is 96 hours. (4 days!) (& that’s average- with some people much longer!)
When the colon is constantly in contact with toxins, cancer develops.

Macronutrients = fats, proteins, carbohydrates
Micronutrients = vitamins, minerals, enzymes, phytonutrients (plant nutrients)

It is estinated that science has only discovered 5-10% of the nutrients in plant foods.

We share 99.6% of our DNA with our closest primate relative.

Animal foods are not good for the body.
Packaged foods are likewise not good or natural for the body.
The average person gets 96% of its calories from animal products and packaged foods.
Only 4% of that consumed is fruits and vegetables ( & many of these are cooked)

McDonalds adds beef flavoring to their hamburgers.

Pasteurized o.j. contains no natural vitamin C. This is very different from eating an orange – a whole other entity.

Salt is toxic to the body. The minerals in celtic sea salt are inorganic. Same as the minerals in mineral water – the body can’t use them. All vinegar (incl apple cider) is ascetic acid and very toxic to the body. Herbs are toxic. They have a strong aromatic scent to keep animals away. Must be used very carefully. Kale, broccoli, cabbage, all cruciferous vegetables are hard for the body to digest ad therefore not essentially needed by the body.

Plants are natures alchemist. They can take inorganic minerals from the soil and transform them into organic minerals.

Organic produce has 4-5X the nutrients (& less poisons). It’s great value!

GMO – over 80% of commercial produce is genetically modified. This creates thousands of new chemicals the body was not designed for. – scary things are coming down the road for us.

Leucocyte – white blood cell
Leucocytosis –increase in white blood cells due to injury to the body
White blood cells are like foot soldiers – they come to clean up the messes.
Digestive leucocytosis – after we eat a meal, the body sends out white blood cells to the digestive tract. ..but only when we eat cooked food.

98.6 F or 37 C is considered normal body temperature.
Normal = average
It is possible this is not a healthy temperature
A healthy temperature is actually 1 ½ -2 degrees lower.
96.5 F is a healthy temperature.

We are all naturally attracted to colourful fruit on trees and their scents. We all have a sweet tooth for a reason. We need sugar every day. This is our fuel.
Fruit is appealing to us most of the time.

Protein- is the building block of natural cell tissue. Every fruit & vegetable contains it.
How much do we need?
We have a cultural belief that we need a lot of protein.
This misconception comes from the meat and dairy industries.
The American dairy council spends 300,000$ educating Americans on the benefits of dairy every day! – over a billion a year.
-they do not care what happens to us, as long as we are buying dairy – it is not a samaritan cause.

We need protein when we are growing. Babys grow the quickest. Mothers breast milk contains 2.5% protein.. this amount decreases to 1.5% by the end of the 1st year.
Most people are getting 25-30% protein – as adults!
We need 1-7% protein when we are growing, much less as adults.
Extra protein does not help us.
The higher rates of protein = the higher rates of disease.
Protein should be a tiny % of our intake.
& up to 75% of out protein needs are recycled in the body.

Soils are depleted of nutrients – true – imp to know I we are on a vegetable based diet – vegetables rely of getting their nutrients from the top 6” of soil.
Most fruit comes from trees whose roots go down 10, 20, 30” into the ground – less of an issue.

Long term macrobiotics are grey. Everything is cooked forever. They discourage you from eating fresh fruits and salads. They are not getting vital energy in the body.

Fruit requires less energy than anything else to digest. This leaves more energy for the body to cleanse itself.

Most fruits have a lower GI than breads, pasta, etc.

‘Man lives on ¼ of what he eats. On the other ¾ lives his doctor’

We expend 50% of our energy processing food every day.

Fasting always leads to a higher level of health.

quotes, Childrens Aids program, Loren Lockman, Raw Benefits

I came across lots of various interesting quotes while sorting through papers yesterday - we are creating a resource center at work.

“Your body is the baggage you must carry through life. The more excess baggage, the shorter the trip.” -Arnold H. Glasgow

“The person who doesn’t take time for relaxation will be obliged sooner or later to make time for illness.” -John Wanamaker

“If we eat wrongly, no doctor can cure us;
If we eat rightly, no doctor is needed.” Victor G Rocine

“The tragedy of life is not death; rather it is what we allow to die within us while we live.” -Norman Cousins

“Superfluous wealth can buy superfluities only. Money is not required to buy one necessary thing of the soul.” -Henry David Thoreau

I have come to share my joy truthfully with you. I say, ye human beings, among all the species on Earth, you are the greatest. You are the greatest for you can change your destiny, you can build your destiny, you can enlighten yourselves.” -Swami Rama

“If each of us were involved in some form of positive change, there wouldn’t be enough problems to go around” -Sam Harris, author ‘Reclaiming Democracy’

I listened to an interview with the person who started this Children's AIDS Health Program, yesterday on the radio. They were very young, a teenager.. and very sincere. I love to see young people, or anyone, who are making a difference in the world – involved in positive change.

‘Our goal is not only to educate children with AIDS, but also to educate others to prevent AIDS. Our long-term goal is to build a health care centre in third world countries specializing in AIDS for children. Aside from treatment and education of AIDS, we are an organization that helps children with AIDS to live their life as a kid and not miss out on their childhood. Our secondary objective is to provide one-on-one support for families with children with AIDS. We also plan to expand our cause throughout the world and create global awareness. Activities will be carried out throughout Canada to encourage Canadian youth that they can make a difference. Our mission is to not only educate others with AIDS, but to educate Canadians about the crisis and situation of this disease.’

I am off to a lecture this morning.. Loren Lockman is speaking at Toronto Sprouts (where I work) today from 10-5. –Organic Raw lunch is included. Yay, looking forward to the lecture.. am sure that will be my topic tomorrow.

I was just googling him to check him out b4 I go:

which led me to this – a great list of raw benefits.
This is written by Roger Haeske. He wrote the original list I saw when I first went RAW. I thought, 'no way.. can’t be' .. and gave myself a 2 week test-period.

It was all true.. and I never went back.
