Experimenting in my Kitchen

I'm doing some experimenting in my kitchen - always! - but this is what I am up to this afternoon.. playing with okra gel and flax gel.. just for fun. Vegetables are so amazing. Here i have 2 bowls, one with the inside of the okra, one with the outside. Just where does all that gel come from?? & if you dehydrate it will it get crispy? Stay tuned my friends..

Cause you never know where you'll end up around here! : )

A walk around my kitchen.. guacamole for lunch..

I have 4 trays of different crackers.. different experiments. This one has Kelp flakes.. it reminds me of the sea..

Amazing produce from markets! I like taking pictures of my fresh fruits and veg, they are like fresh flowers.. so beautiful!

Always almond milk in my fridge! ..

Lots to experiment with with nut milk pulp also!

Lots of crackers..

My kitchen is fun, and it periodically goes from clean to total disruption-everything out everywhere to clean again n what seems like a flash.. I find it quite amazing sometimes.. it's like whoa this place is a disaster.. and if you walked in 5 minutes later, all spotless and organized. It's just one of those superhuman talents I have. : ) I love my kitchen!

Plant filtration Shower

Scientists design plant filtration system that lets you drink your own SHOWER water

Eco-thinkers have come up with an amazing new way to create drinking water - by putting plants in the bottom of a shower.

Designers Jun Yasumoto, Vincent Vandenbrouk, Olivier Pigasse, and Alban Le Henry came up with the concept when looking for new ways to recycle precious H2O.

After you have washed in the special eco-shower the water passes down into a series of physical filters and is treated by plants such as reeds and rushes growing around your feet.

The waste water passes into a chamber below the shower floor where it goes through a maze of filters.

Included in the network is sand, reeds, rushes, a mesh filter, water hyacinths and lemnas, and finally a carbon filter.

Superfood Breakfast Routine #2 - Hot Super-Mocha Drink

The #2 part of my Superfood Breakfast lately has been this incredible Super Herb, Superfood, Super powerful drink I have been making lately. This is directly inspired by David Wolfe. For years I have been making herbal teas.. but it was hearing David talking about the most powerful Chinese herbs that really got me into brewing Chuchuhuasi, Una de Gato, Pau d'Arco regularly - well, I played around with some of these before.. I have alwasy found herbs fascinating!

But it was something I heard him say recently about a coffee blender drink that really perked my ears. & he didn't even say how he did it.. but I was inspired!!

& I am not sure why, I have never been a coffee drinker. One of the few people I know who actually never, or rarely drank it. The only time in my life I got into it slightly was sometimes, once a week for my art history classes (both at NSCAD in my 20's and OCAD in my 30's) I love coffee! I love the flavor and taste.. but just never got into drinking it. I think becasue my Dad was addicted - & I have afeeling that subconsciously I decided early that I didnt want that.

But James, my partner, loves coffee.. he gave it up for over a year after we met, a few months after seeing each other he went raw & quit coffee, for over a year! .. Now, he's almost raw & back to drinking coffee sometimes.. not bad. I got him into hot chocolate also, he never liked it before! but Mayan hot chocolate is an entirely different drink from the processed stuff they sell in cans and packages - which he had tsted and is most peoples experience of hot chocolate. I was happy that he loved it from the first taste. He's good at recognizing quality & of course, it's one of my favorite things. : )

& Btw, about Chocolate, the true love of my life!! I stop eating it for periods every once in awhile.. and don't feel like I am addicted. But I love the way I feel when I do eat it!!

So lately I have been taking my love of chocolate and a bit of coffee and super powerful herbs and well, here's how the drink is made. & if you get into making these watch out:
This has very strong Energy Love Bliss Stamina Clearing Recognition and Empowering Powers = )

There are many ways to do this, you can brew a tea first.. but I am working on the easiest way.. this is what I have so far, but it's evolving..

The picture above is my bowl in the kitchen where I have compiled all my brewing herbs: Pau d'Arco, Chuchuhuasi, Una de Gato ( Nettles and Horetail would be great also & I have others in my kitchen which I can include for certain properties, but these ones I use all the time)

in another small container I have pre-mixed powers: Ashwaganda, Astragalus, Macuna. I love other ones like Fo Ti, but leave it out because the taste is bitter, I take it seperately. This drink has to taste great! ok, here goes..

Super Mocha Drink
This will make 1 large cup. Double or triple or quadruple etc. for however many cups you want.

Blend together:

1 T Coffee beans
1 small handfull of brewing herbs: Chuchuhuasi, Pau d'Arco, Una de Gato, Nettles, Horsetail etc
opt- small handful of Goji berries
1 1/2 c just below boiling- Hot Water

After blending, I usually let sit for 5-10 minutes (sometimes longer) while I take my shower or listen to spanish podcasts. Then give a short blend again.. remove and strain through a small sieve into a bowl. Rinse blender and pour herbal coffee back into blender, restraining again through sieve.

to contents Add:

2T raw Cacao mass or 2 T Cacao powder
1-2 T Honey or Agave
1 t powdered herb mix, sometimes I add others: Astragalus, Ashwaganda, Macuna, Ginko..
1 T powdered Reishi, or Maitake, Cordycepts, Chaga - I mostly use Reishi & open caps of Host Defense (blend of 17 medicinal mushrooms)
1 T Maca
2 T Hemp seeds
1 T Sesame seeds
1 T Chia seeds

Thats it! Pour it into a big mug. It will be a bit foamy on top & it tastes delicious!

I keep finding ways to make this easier and quicker.. but I like the process I take right now. There's something about it that I dont want to simplify it too much. There's something in the process of making it , of taking the extra few minutes to add all the things, of the brewing and straining.. that feels like consecrating, infusing and adding to the power of it.
Of course, I love being in the kitchen, and this is 'me' time (& that does not mean there has to be any 'not me' time ; ) But it's time I enjoy.. making something I enjoy & I most enjoy when I can share it also!!
I am loving this.. I have made it a few times without the coffee tho.. or with very little - I feel coffee is very powerful, like cayenne.. it feels like everything is zooms everything into my cells and through my body.. good, but a little intense.. of course, this is the combo - very powerful!

xo! Bliss, Peace & Love!

Superfood Breakfast Routine #1 - Superfood Clusters

I have been getting into this morning superfood routine - 2 key things, well, 3 actually, cause the day is really started with a big Green Smoothie around 9 or 10 or so..

That's been a big part of my Morning for years! But the new addition has been my bowl of granola, fruit, almond milk and maple syrup ..and the new addition to this has been 1 or 2 of my superfood clusters broken up into it. (#3 part of the superfood morning routine coming up soon)

Above pic has it covered up with fruit but below you can see them.. broken up on top. & also the chlorella tabs, which I thought would be a great idea - but not really, they don't taste so great.. it's better taking them separately! But the superfood clusters are amazing both in the cereal and on their own!!!

They are a huge hit around here. I have been making them regularly. These are inspired by a recipe by Elaina Love, a link which my Mom sent me & I can't find now - but here's a link to her website - & there are lots of other great recipes there!! : )

I have been into superfoods for a long time - here's a link back to a recipe I used to love to make for superfood squares - 1 c Maca, lol, Love that!!

Anyway, here's the new recipe thats won my heart - or, How I made it last time, it seems to change everytime, depending on what I have around. I am looking into getting reishi, chaga etc in bulk so I imagine that my upcoming batches will be filled with lots more of those!

Superfood Clusters

1 c Cacao powder
2 T Spirulina
2 T Lacuma powder
1 T Reishi powder
1/4 c Coconut Oil
1/4 c Honey
1/2 c Agave
Mix this together and start melting, carefully, over low heat, so you dont get it too hot, 1/4 c Cacao Butter - I usually melt it in a bowl over a pan of boiling water. This is a necessary ingredient, needed to solidify the rest of the cluster together.
Continue adding to bowl while this is melting:
1/2 c Goji Berries
1/2 c Golden 'Incan' Berries
1/2 c Cacao nibs
1 c Coconut
1/2 c Hemp Seeds
2 T Sesame seeds
1/2 c Brazil nuts - chopped
1/2 c Macadamias - chopped

Here's my tray of them, kind of messy. I used my old well-worn industrial sized cookie sheet to scoop them out onto and then put them in the fridge or freezer for an hour to harden and set. Then I remove and store in a container in the fridge. I've ben eating 2-3 of these a day - Loving them!!!

My kithen counter, as usual.. lots on the go!! : )

David Wolfe talk in Haliburton

Mi-San and I were just arriving here at Living Libations in Haliburton as David was starting to speak. It was a hot sunny day & we just drove 3 hours, top down in a cute little convertible (my b/f's) and when we got there the only spot to see David was sitting in the sun. & wow, I didn't realize until later just how much sun I got.. I have realized this summer just how decieving convertibles can be with the nice breeze taking attention away from the sun.
So, I took it for a long time.. but as an afterthought, I wished I had taken a few notes.. he talked about some really interesting things. ..some different things and things I want to explore further, like:

Rudolph Steiner. ok, thats it. This guy has been coming to me from everywhere for the past year, flying at me through ayahuasca and places and people I know and love, all over the place.. he was an occultist who divined information (much of which they are just starting to prove through studies) - there are over 330 volumes which contain his works, most of which is unrepeated! He was responsible for the establishing of waldorf schools and he is responsible for biodynamic farming!! I think I have a lot to read!!

He talked about how walking barefoot can increase your lifespan.. or rather how rubber soled shoes reduce your life by either 30% or 30 years..(close) .. about studies done and how rubber is an insulator so you are not getting the Earth's frequencies, the vibrations which keep us healthy and intune.

I was reminded and confirmed that I should be wearing my Zapper - I have a Hulda Clarke Zapper, a device which kills parasites, bacteria, viruses, molds and fungi electrically. & I have just dug mine out and starting wearing it about a month ago. But not as often as I probably should.. hey, I have it, I should use it .. but I go through phases with my gadgets and devices.
He talked a lot about Pppp (he wouldn't say it : ) shhh parasites) and different types of bacteria and fungus and calcification found in the body.
Calcification was interesting also.. how Calcium deposits can build up in joints.. and usually falls further away from the body.. to the feet and hands. He said you can feel your ankle joints to tell approximately how much time you've got left.

Root vegetables are good for the brain. Leafy greens are good for the lungs, respiratory - maybe more but my brain picked up the lung part because thats been my challenge lately
..and how seeds are good for something lower, reproductive - I remember hearing him before saying Nuts make you nuts, seeds give you seeds. ; )

& he talked about emotions also, how this is what directly affects our health.. different emotions affect different areas of the body. Thus my lungs, a friend told me a few weeks ago thats where we carry grief and sadness.. well, I guess it makes sense that I would have a challenge here, 20 year marriage ending, 3 kids mostly leaving home.. etc... it's been an emotional life for the past year!! But on a positive note - I have been feeling like I am moving past all that, moving forward and upward!! : )

Reflexology - something I have been interested in since I was a kid! & he talked about the K1 spot also called Bubbling Spring, located on the sole at base of big toe. I am going to have to look this up more.. I think it's directly related to the kidneys, water filtration , that would make sense!!
He talked a lot about Spring water and different types of natural water, ways it comes out of the earth.. going back to geology class (which I loved and got a 91 in! : ) & how there is no way to turn tap water back into spring water or to its natural form, no filtration process can do it.
He also talked about vortex spinning water..
oh & someone asked about urine therapy.. that was interesting! For the most part he said it wouldnt work, too much sediment or something in it. but the very interesting part was about William Hitt and taking urine, spinning it-vortexizing, letting sediment fall out and using a syringe and putting a small amount by needle into fatty tissue (behind) and incredible results from the therapy used at the William Hitt Center.
Took me awhile to find this but this is it: Antigen Receptor Vaccination

Wow I am remembering a lot - but he talked about a lot of things!!

Double helix spiral, and our DNA - Viktor Schauberger and Vortex technology and theories based on movements in nature. We beathe in a vortex, our breath spirals in and out.
and how you can take 1 square foot of dirt and unwind the dna strands in it, wrap it around the Earth and it will go all te way around.. I forget how many times. but many times..

and finally, last thing coming to me - the Aquaovo water filter.

A Spiritual Conspiracy

A SPIRITUAL "CONSPIRACY"

On the surface of our world right now
There is war, violence, and craziness
And things may seem dark.
But calmly and quietly
At the same time
Something is happening underground.
An inner revolution is taking place
And certain individuals
Are being called to a higher light.
It is a silent revolution
From the inside out
From the ground up.
This is a global co-operation
That has sleeper cells in every nation.
It is a planetary Spiritual Conspiracy.

You won't likely see us on T.V.
You won't read about us in the newspaper.
You won't hear from us on the radio.
We don't seek glory.
We don't wear any uniform.
We come in all shapes and sizes, colors and styles.
We are in every country and culture of the world
In cities big and small, mountains and valleys
In farms and villages, tribes and remote islands.
Most of us work anonymously
Seeking not recognition of name
But profound transformation of life.
Working quietly behind the scenes
You could pass by one of us on the street
And not even notice.
We go undercover
Not concerned for who takes the final credit
But simply that the work gets done.
Many of us may seem to have normal jobs.
But behind the external storefront
Is where the deeper work takes a place.
With the individual and collective power
Of our minds and hearts
We spread passion, knowledge, and joy to all.
Some call us the Conscious Army
As together
We co-create a new world.
Our orders come from the Spiritual Intelligence Agency
Instructing us to drop soft, secret love bombs
when no one is looking.
Poems ~ Hugs ~ Music ~ Photography ~ Smiles ~ Kind words
Movies ~ Meditation and prayer ~ Dance ~ Websites
Social activism ~ Blogs ~ Random acts of kindness...
We each express ourselves
In our own unique ways
With our own unique gifts and talents.
"Be the change you want to see in the world"
That is the motto that fills our hearts.
We know this is the path to profound transformation.
We know that quietly and humbly
Individually and collectively
We have the power of all the oceans combined.
At first glance our work is not even visible.
It is slow and meticulous
Like the formation of mountains.
And yet with our combined efforts
Entire tectonic plates
Are being shaped and moved for centuries to come.
Love is the religion we come to share
And you don't need to be highly educated
Or have exceptional knowledge to understand it.
Love arises from the intelligence of the heart
Embedded in the timeless evolutionary pulse
Of all living beings.
Be the change you want to see in the world.
Nobody else can do it for you.
Yet don't forget, we are all here supporting you.
We are now recruiting.
Perhaps you will join us
Or already have.
For in this spiritual conspiracy
All are welcome, and all are loved.
The door is always open.

NYC - Rockin' Raw Pt 2

Beautiful walk.. we come back refreshed and so happy to be able to check out their regular menu. I want to try it all.. it all looks amazing, but we carefully choose.

Above are the Crab Cakes with Creamy Dill Sauce
Below are the N'awlins Rings
Both are amazing! very flavorful, very delicious! I think we chose well!!

Next we ordered 3 Entrees but we ended bringing this - the King Oyster Mushroom Po' Boy Sandwich back with us and eating it on the flight back to Toronto a few hours later.
It was amazing plane food!! Way to travel! ) & the hot sauce was great too!!
I really need to make myself an incredible hot sauce - I miss this & I Love heat!!!

We had the Louisiana Gumbo with "Sausage" and Cauliflower Rice. It was very rich and delicious with lots of vegetables. That's one thing about Rockin' Raw, they are not heavy on the nuts & I really like that! You feel full after eating their food, but not heavy. & the flavors are amazing!! but who doesn't love Creole!!??

The Tacu-Tacu - Their version of the famous Peruvian dish. Wild rice, Jicama, Walnuts, Sesame seeds and Mushrooms, Magic spices served with Plantains and Greens. very delicious, esp loved the carmelized plantains with it.. Mmm!

& for Dessert we had to try their Vanilla Ice Cream Sundae.. Raw Ice Cream is the best!!

Diego & I..

In the kitchen!

Luis and Tere..

again, cause they are a really cute couple!!

and a couple shots of their beautiful back patio!

Thank you so much!!!! xo

& this concludes the NYC Adventure - wow!! It was amazing and I'm glad I recorded it & took all those pics to share.. but I am really ready to post about present life now! .. I keep holding my tongue and my fingers on the keyboard.. Ahh, now I can set them free once more!!whew.! : ) xo.
