Principle of Life Transformation & 50 Great Reasons to go Raw

Excerpt on "The Principle of Life Transformation" from The Sunfood Diet Success System by David Wolfe:

"The most interesting thing about life is that you can become more than you were before. You can become stronger, wiser, healthier than you ever dreamed possible. You can achieve your true potential. You can completely reform your physical structure, your intelligence, your emotional poise, your spiritual power. This book is about how to biologically transmutate the lead of life into the white gold of glory.

The Principle of Life Transformation is that life change comes from the inside out. All transformation begins with one person - you. As above, so below. Everything happening around you is only a reflection of what is going on inside you. If you want the world to change, you have to change.

We are all personally responsible for the state of the entire world because the world only mirrors our inner selves. Pollution, famine, and disease are reflective of the inner crisis gripping us individually, and therefore collectively. These “realities” are fragments of our collective consciousness projected outward upon our environment."

A Fun and Colourful day - Organic Wear makeup, Ravi's salad, Moja Tea Gallery, Bula socks, Achiote and sooo much chocolate!

"The mystery of life is not a problem to be solved but a reality to be experienced" ~Aart VanDerLeeuw

I had a most amazing day at work today! Our cafe was closed until 2pm, there was a new make-up line launch event taking place in the space- a couple girls from NYC here promoting Organic Wear by Physicians Formula. This is the first certified organic makeup line to be sold in mass market retail stores! (due to be launched Feb. 08)
It is 100% Natural Origin makeup with certified organic ingredients. No harsh chemicals, parabens or synthetic preservatives - even the packaging is Eco-friendly! It's great.. But they only have foundation, concealer, bronzers, powders & blush so far.. no colors, eyeliners, mascaras, lipsticks or anything yet.. but, its a start. & I got a huge demo bag of products (Score!)

And while the cafe was closed, Luke & I went out on a field trip to checkout a few other cafes downtown. We went to Ravisoups on Adelaide first, it was our main stop.. Bt when we get there I discover they have soups & wraps, nothing raw... not even salads! But when I asked if there is any raw option (I suggested tomato & lettuce or whatever veggie wrap fillings they had) ..and then Ravi created the most amazing salad for me! It was so beautiful & colourful- What a presentation! I wished I had my camera (note to self again!- put camera in purse!!!) It was beautiful.. & was something like this:

Ravi's Salad

Korean cabbage, the crinkly kind - chopped
Radicchio - chopped or torn into small pieces
Parsnip -shaved slivers with veg peeler
Carrot - shaved slivers with veg peeler
Red pepper- thin strips
Apple - julienned strips
Pineapple - julienned strips
Basil leaves- lots
Cilantro leaves - lots

He served it with an oil& balsamic vinaigrette cause his tamarind dressing was from cooked tamarind... but when I recreate it here at home I will make a tamarind dressing like this:

Tamarind paste (soak tamarind in warm water for awhile, then mash and strain through a sieve/fine metal strainer - a bit of work, but so, so worth it, tamarind is one of the best flavours ever!) Then mix in a bit of maple syrup or agave (depending on pref &/or how pure you are), some nama shoyu (raw soy sauce), olive oil, lemon juice, Celtic salt & cayenne

Also.. I met a beautiful woman working there - Sandra Amarie - who is starting a business creating these incredible organic tea blends - Moja Tea Gallery - also on Adelaide, a few doors down.
She made us her Apple-Basil-Ginger Lung Ching Green tea. It's a 2 step process, 2 tea bags, the apple-basil-ginger gets steeped for 10 minutes and then the green tea gets steeped for 2 min max. Great tea is an art and she makes it simple for us who want to enjoy it without the hassle and complications of measuring, blending which is usually necessary for it. A brilliant idea ..and it was delicious. I am excited to try her other creative blends!!!
What an amazing lunch! A successful field trip-business excursion! ; )

Life is good! No, Life is great!!!

(Bonus) On our way back I bought the coolest socks at Groovy, Queen E. BulaBula. k, gotta cool it I guess, on a budget for awhile - I forgot..but got a hug and laugh from Mi-San about it. what a job-gotta love it.
Oh, and the most fantastic Barbie-doll-wild-pink scarf at Black Market, also on Queen. fun.

& it was so quiet today, guess cause we were closed earlier, it was so slack ..& I consumed soo much chocolate it was crazy..we found a raw cacao bean stash unexpectedly..started off with those, a few of Fred's totally fantasmical raw chocolate truffles, Mattieu came with a ChocoSol delivery, sampling to be done there! Raw Vanilla- How does a cacaoholic resist freshly made bicycle ground chocolates made with Love and the best cacao and most delicious vanilla beans in the world!??? ..and the Aztec Blood Hot Chocolate - it's a seasonal drink (almost done!) and chocolate decadence at its best. The dramatic red color comes from the Achiote (Spanish for annato seeds). Achiote is a small & irregularly shaped, deep reddish colored seed about the size of a lentil which are grown in pods. They have a delicate nutty aroma-flavour but are mainly used for their brilliant red pigment.

pic above of the achiote seeds & pods - Nature is so amazing! Gotta love it! Wow
Its a wild, wild world out there!

Inspiration in 3's

1. from my new Facebook group- Inner Peace - 'Earth-Peace through Self-Peace' intro message:

remember that YOU have control over how you react and respond to ANYTHING that comes your way. ...

It's in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped...

2-postcard from NYC:

"Once again New York proves to be electro-magical in theory and practice with costumed dogs, tubas, grand fabricated curvatures of landscapes and literature intersecting in brightness and focus of the absolute threshhold of everything.
Quintessences to you!"

3. Paragraph read at my meditation group last night from Star + Gate:Keys to the Kingdom by Richard H. Geer:

"One day, as I was walking through a doorway into a sunny afternoon, the world and time seemed to stop completely. In that one instant everything made perfect sense. In that moment I realized that everything I had seen or done or had experienced--all of it--Had been perfectly planned, choreographed and staged for me for my own growth. I had always had a choice in what happened, and yet every bit of my life had been for my benefit. A marvelous feeling of insight, of really "getting the point" about things, came over me. I had a grand sense of cooperation, whether I had been conscious of it or not, between the world at large and myself. Imagine! Each event, each experience, tailored just for me! And the same exquisite arrangement existed for everyone else, regardless of whether they knew it or not."

Losing and finding things, transformation and peace and cycles and dreams

Ah, so home life has been busy. I still have a bag of books & cds to unpack..I got stuck going through my bookshelf.. and esp the box of photos and the basket that I just throw all the photos into that people give me. Oh, and I have this memory box that I have kept since I was about 10 years old with all the best stuff in it. I even have my first witchcraft book.. Barb & I were 11 or 12 and on a road trip with my parents and when dad filled up with gas we got to get one of those little Esso books for free.. so we picked Everyday Witchcraft and started putting spells on everyone.. we were collecting hair from boys and all kinds of fun and probably dangerous things.. lol Good thing I had my protective shield around me.. it was already in force then.

Things are changing around here. I am the only one raw ..although the kids may be slowly transforming or at least eating more raw. I steamed some broccoli, very, very lightly and then they tell me they only like it raw now. Cool.

btw, broccoli is great dipped in the kale-basil pesto I just made earlier this evening. It's such a great way to eat it!!

Oh, but the biggest and best change was that I finally got rid of the microwave.. I replaced it with a toaster oven, but hey, it's a start. Microwaves just seem really, really scary to me. I am so glad that's gone!

I went to Glory's yoga class this afternoon amidst all my shopping and cleaning. That was so wonderful. I have hardly been going to yoga lately and just realized how much I missed it. & Glory being the amazingly intuitive person she is had this really slow, relaxing, breath conscious class that just worked on many levels. It was so peaceful. I love yoga!
(Oh, and the steam room after!! )

wow.. it just occured to me how much I luxuriated amidst all the things I did. I just had the most amazing bath this evening with these incredible minerals my mom gave me that are just the best thing ever for your muscles.. so relaxing..I could just float away.. on a cloud..
ok,I'm getting sleepy..

The most inspiring thought and phrase that sticks with me came in an e-mail "The world is your oyster" Nice thought.. and repetitive.. been hearing that. Yes! (say yes to the Universe!)

Abraham Hicks today:

"Feel appreciation for those who provide examples of Well-being. How would you know that prosperity was possible if there wasn't some evidence of prosperity around you? It's all part of this contrast that helps you to sharpen your desire."

TUT.. Note from the Universe for today:

"The prospect of happiness that moves you in the direction of a new dream will always pale in comparison to the happiness you find once it comes true."

ok, it's late again..I'm yawning. It's time to close this little internet cafe I have running here down for the night. Sweet Dreams! & Hugs! g'night.

Something - on floating and cohesiveness

Ha, That pic is so random!! Blogging can be so much fun.
I had someone come into work today and told me he was going through blog withdrawal. "What's up? You can't do that! Just stop posting!! You have to come and say at least something.. like that you will be back soon.. technical difficulties or something"

So, this is my something. To be honest as much as I feel very definite about this being the right path, choice in life.. and really believe it is for all of my family.. I have to admit I am not as cohesive as I usually am. I am good, and clear..but thoughts just kind of float through me and nothing is sticking the way it usually does. A few times I thought of posting and then came here & nothing much came to mind. So I just didn't. That's life.

I am excited that I am moving back in home with my kids tomorrow. My husband is moving out.. so it will be really strange. He's really an amazing and wonderful person.. so I am hoping this all goes smoothly. In my heart I believe this is best for both of us. ..and the kids.

Now on the raw front. I missed an amazing Durian party last Sunday.. & those don't come around that often!! That was being hosted by Mark & Chantelle in Guelph of Living Nutrition
who are also hosting a raw potluck tomorrow.. which I will also be missing because I will be busy getting settled back in.

I missed David's talk in Georgetown also.. it did snow a lot. I left work intending to go, but then the subway closed down and I was 45 minutes late meeting my friend and it just seemed to slippery and icy. I got a bit of a synopsis of it at work from a friend ..but its just not the same as seeing him. I find his talks really fun - inspiring & motivational.

Oh, something exciting yesterday.. I got an e-mail from Katrina of Juice Feasting and am listed on day 60 of their 92 day program. ..& I am signed up for a 30 day membership. Something very positive to focus on when I get all set up again at home tomorrow. (& back into routine and posting regularly).

ok, so now I am off to go pack.. heading home early. Hugs & Love, Keiko

British comedy, upcoming events, my birthday video and us wayshowers

Hi everyone!

Just a few notes.. I am taking a break from my busy night of watching back to back Nighty Night British comedy sit-com videos.. eating my special pot infused, Arcturian activated goddess chocolates (lol- wow) & drinking special Stash Christmas eve tea (orange, spearmint, vanilla, cinnamon, clove)

So whats going on?.. in a nutshell I have moved out of the house.. but am moving back in with the kids on Sunday. But right now I am doing the transient living out of a bag type thing.

I am taking a break from the raw summit tonight to sit back and watch this crazy dark comedy series .. and then hopefully get a good nights sleep.

I have a lot coming up .. tomorrow evening David Wolfe is speaking in Georgetown.. and it's been sold out for a couple weeks already but Mi-San got me in (Yay - Mi-San!!) So, unless it snows a lot I will be there ..and then all day Friday Mi-San has us booked for a full day workshop-seminar event called "Living the Dream" or something like that. 8:30am-8:30pm
I'm not sure exactly what it is ..but I will let you know. Sounds very positive and good and I just got booked in for it, so it must be!

Hey I just got an e-mail with a link to my birthday on video! wow.. cool! Thanks Fred!!! : )
click here to see me blow out the candles!

& an e-mail with a link to GoldRing XIIa- Arcturian Alignment I - The Great Game about us being wayshowers & how eventually all of our thoughts and emotions will be amplified 1 million times in strength. Wowww!! Thanks again. cool.

Raw Summit 2 - Rod Rotundi

Rod Rotundi is the founder of the Leaf Cuisine restaurants in California.
He has spent 15 years in the Middle East..was used to middle eastern cuisine. Then he found raw foods ..he felt he found the Food of the Gods. And he did.

He started in Boston, his parents were there. The day he got back into the US he found the location for his first restaurant. He opened Leaf Cuisine 3 years ago.
He serves wraps, salads, smoothies & juices.
Everything is certified organic, vegan and raw.

Smoothie recipe - nut milks are a great base. Take almonds or cashews, soak overnight, rinse in the morning then put in the blender with fresh water - 1 c nuts:6 c water add vanilla powder

Banana Blueberry Smoothie - nut milk, banana, blueberries and dates

Great to tell people to eat raw foods.. but where do people go to get it?
Society is not for healthy foods.
Leaf Cuisine is a fast service restaurant. Food is delivered within a few minutes. Portions are large.

Rod has made many types of cuisines Arabic, French, Indian etc.
Raw is by far the easiest cuisine to prepare. It is the most mundane, ordinary thing in the world to eat things from nature.. but we go into 7-11's, into convenience stores and look around and there is not one thing available from nature. Foods that human beings are meant to eat.
One of the fun of raw cuisine is translating foods from other cultures.

Rod is not 100% raw. Believes its important to enjoy your food. To try different things.
He eats predominately raw, but primarily all organic.. is organic first.

You come to realize that what you put in your mouth determines how you feel. It determines how long you are going to live your life. ..and how well you are going to live your life.
Raw cuisine is medicine for our bodies.

Rod is planning on starting up franchising soon. He is creating a lifestyle brand.
He is developing food products- dressings, dips, crackers.
He gives classes and plans on creating a raw food academy.

We are living in an exciting period of rapid change. There are so many options open to us.. so much available.

I am finding the Leaf cuisine website sooo inspiring. The food looks amazing!!! Check out the menu! .. ok, I'm hungry.. lets hop in the car & go for dinner. hmmm the Posche Cayenne or the Tesla Roadster? How many are coming? The Roadster really seems more appropriate, electric. ..but, the cayenne is a great road trip car! hmm..choices.
well, let's go!

Raw Summit 2 - Karen Knowler

I am a little late getting into the Raw Summit #2 which started Nov 15th with the Rev. Dr Michael Bernard Beckwith. Yesterday was Robert O. Young, D. Sc., PhD. author of The Ph Miracle.

I am listening to Karen Knowler right now.. she is a raw food coach and author of "Raw Food for Beginners"

Thoughts from her call:

Going raw is a very extensive journey. It brings you back to your source -like a child. You start with the food and everything else unfolds.
She talks about working with people transitioning.. how many people yo-yo with it. She realizes that there are may things that people must deal with before they go raw, for instance if someone is in an abusive relationship or is in a job they don't like its much more difficult or impossible to stay raw.
There is an energy shift as people become more & more in alignment with their own natural energy. Most people are blocked.

us vs the outside world. This can be difficult because we are social creatures and want to feel connected but a lot of our relations will have different viewpoints on us eating raw. various jugements.. everyone coming from their own perspectives, some will agree with what you are doing, some disagree.. but no one will know what you are doing - whether they are upset or inspired - until they try it themselves.

We are vibrating at another level.

One of the keys to staying raw is finding more people like ourselves.

Are you actually helping anyone by not living your truth? Is it worth is going back to eating cooked (and not feeling good) by going back? Perhaps you could be helping someone by inspiring them.. we have a responsibility to ourselves and our planet to step into our truths so that others can step into theirs.

Raw Chocolate - she hears many people say if it wasn't for raw chocolate they wouldn't have gone raw. Raw Ice Cream, all the raw varieties of foods.. once people realize they can have so many different things and types of dishes and will not be deprived they are willing to try and more open to it.

Raw food is about expansion. You get better health, better energy, more clarity, more focus, deeper spirituality, more flexibility, more intuition ..everything gets better.. What is not to love? Its very empowering.

It is good to start listening to the raw gurus, people who are already on a raw path, but ultimately it is important to find your own path.. to find what works best for you.. we are all very different. When you listen to your body it pays off great dividends and then you realize that your own body is the best guru.

what about time? Karen tends to be a fast foodist - previously on cooked or now when raw. Thats one of the problems with all the recipes out there, it can put people off. Some take a long time. She has a book Recipes under 10 minutes. There are a lot of smoothies.. shes a smoothie girl. It's the fastest way to eat on the planet.

Often we crave what we are detoxifying.

Its important to eat a wide range of foods, of types and colors of foods. The body is like a computer and it will take what it needs from what is in there.

Honesty is imperative to going raw. A conscious deviation with some moderation is better than denial..which could lead to a huge many day binge or even falling off the raw wagon.
Its good to have some motivation.. if not, its easy to fall to criticism or the outside world.

You often outgrow your original reasons for going raw- ie losing weight, energy, optimism
every day raw greater awareness, greater connectedness, heightened feelings etc. ..and you know as soon as you eat cooked you lose all that.

1 delicious food
2 raw support
3 inspiring vision - embodying our true potential. Self actualization. How do I want to show up in this world as my brightest most beautiful self?
If you look at people who have been into raw foods for a long time you will see that they have set their lives up to support their living their highest potential.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~Marianne Williamson

ps. Karen has a weekly inspiration what goes out every Friday, available from her website. I just signed up for it. : )
She is setting up a raw retreat ..soon available, called A Slice of Raw Heaven.

My Birthday, My Dentist, Transitions and Letting Go

There is so much going on in my life right now. I am going through a major transition in my personal life. Things are changing. I am going through an emotional time..but I know deep down that what is happening, although it is difficult, is for the best. ok, this is maybe kind of cryptic.. but nuff said. And if my blog posting is a little more sporadic, well, you know why.. sort of. ; )

It's my birthday today!!! I should change my profile - 44 today. cool. I got described as a hippie-chick.. I liked that.
I gotsome of the coolest presents.. lots of hand made and really thought out gifts. ..and cards. cool dishes, and the best food - young coconuts, physalis, truffles, dried mangoes, strawberries, medjool dates, special infused goddess chocolates-made with pot, essential oils and Arcturian activated with all the cards ..really intense, 2 gold boxes full each wrapped in purple foil. lots of flowers.. sooo many ..& more hugs than you could possibly imagine. I am overwhelmed with love and support and friends. I am just so incredibly blessed!!

oh & Connie -I got a book about ho'oponopono written by Mabel Katz, which I can't wait to read & tell you all about, looks amazing ..read some on the subway.. from my mom -she always gets the best stuff... an antenna for all good things. (she got me the 1st 4 Anastasia books last year!! - before I had ever heard of her!)

& I want to tell you about my dentist appt yesterday. I have the best dentist in the world!
Dr Dana Colson- she's amazing. & Lana also ..she did a teeth whitening thing for me a few months back and was really intrigued by the whole raw food thing.. started by her commenting on my eyes. So now she has been raw for quite a while..and she keeps telling everyone who comes in to come look at my eyes.. "this is the girl I was telling you about".. shes so excited and has this amazing accent - shes great!
ok, so I'm laid back in the chair and they just start working and I can't really say anything and this woman sits and introduces herself and tells me she is going to take off my boots and give me some foot reflexology while they work on my teeth. awesome! This lady sat and rubbed and refexologied my feet for over an hour..I was in heaven. Dana says "Just think of this as a foot reflexology appointment with a little dental work thrown in" wow!!! & Last time I went, the week before they gave me a parafin wax hand treatment!! ..and they serve fresh squeezed carrot juice. *Wow*

Lana's Favorite Salad: shredded beets, purple cabbage, green cabbage, carrots with olive oil, squeezed lemon, salt and cayenne pepper.

Osho card of the day - Letting Go

In this image of lotus leaves in the early morning, we can see in the rippling of the water that one drop has just fallen. It is precious moment, and one that is full of poignancy. In surrendering to gravity and slipping off the leaf, the drop loses its previous identity and joins the vastness of the water below. We can imagine that it must have trembled before it fell, just on the edge between the known and the unknowable.
To choose this card is a recognition that something is finished, something is completing. Whatever it is - a job, a relationship, a home you have loved, anything that might have helped you to define who you are - it is time to let go of it, allowing any sadness but not trying to hold on. Something greater is awaiting you, new dimensions are there to be discovered. You are past the point of no return now, and gravity is doing its work. Go with it - it represents liberation.

Zen stories and more Pot-Luck recipes

I went to my fav meditation group tonight led by John who shared a couple great stories with us. ..I love Zen stories:

There were 3 men who went together into the forest to meditate together.. they were planning on a really long silent meditation which would last for several years. A year went by and not one of the men talked, 2 years went by and then one night 1 man said out loud “I hate brown rice”. And then nothing else was said for a long, long time.. another year and a half went by and a second man said “so what?” and then again silence.. after a few more years, 5 years total had gone by and the 3rd man says “That’s it, I’m leaving. I can’t stand listening to you two bickering”

Zen humour! Lol ok, next story..

This story takes place in a Japanese Medieval School, in a classroom of 14-15 year olds. The classroom is very strict, very orderly and disciplined. Now in this classroom there is a teacher who always falls asleep on his desk for awhile every afternoon (little 20 min power nap) and there is this boy who one day speaks up – although everyone shocked because you don’t usually say anything like this to the teacher and he asks him about his falling asleep on his desk every day. The teacher replies “Ah, but every day when I fall asleep I go up to the clouds, I enter the 7th heaven and talk to the sages of all time who impart great wisdom to me.”

So.. the next day the boy goes to sleep on his desk. The teacher is very upset by this. He makes a big whack with a stick on his desk beside him to wake him up. The teacher asks what he is doing, sleeping in his classroom. The boy looks up and says “Teacher, when I was asleep I went up to the clouds, to the 7th heaven and spoke to the great sages of all time who imparted great wisdom to me and then I asked them if they had seen you and they said No!”

& now for some quality Raw content!
One of my favorite salads from the Pot Luck last Saturday -

Chinese Wild Rice with Tender Vegetables

1/2 head purple cabbage - chopped
1 onion - chopped
3 coves garlic - minced
1 T ginger - minced
1 red pepper - cut into thin strips
2 heads of broccoli with stems -cut into thin pieces
2 carrots - cut into thin strips
1 bunch cilantro- stems removed - chopped
1 bunch flat leaf parsley - chopped
1/2 c lemon juice
3/4 c sesame oil
zest of 1 orange
1/4 c nama shoyu
1 1/2 t Celtic sea salt
1/2 t cayenne
1/2 lb wild rice - soaked 48 hours

Mix all together in a bowl.

Another favorite salad - & I couldn't believe it was this simple consisted of mainly mung beans- (at early sprouting stage) with chopped red pepper and sunflower sprouts, olive &/or sesame oil, salt & cayenne.

and a few other recipes from dishes I really enjoyed:

Raw Sunflower Seed Pate - soaked sunflower seeds, fresh dill, crushed garlic, lemon juice, green onion, celery & Celtic salt.

Salad with pear, dandelion leaves, fennel and sun-dried tomatoes (all chopped).

A great, super simple pate made with only 3 ingredients- cashews, kale, and Braggs aminos.

Salad dressing made with olive oil, lemon, garlic, date and sun-dried tomatoes.

Thai Cucumber Salad- cucumbers, lemon juice, cayenne and basil.

Halva - almonds, raw tahini, honey, vanilla and raw cacao.

& also the Almond D-lights from Halowe'en- coconut meat, goji berries, cacao nibs, small piece of dried lemon peel, tahini and maple syrup.
